Hummus On Toast

I love to make art on my toasts…they simply bring them to life & get me all excited!

To make my Toast I have chosen two superfoods Chickpeas & Beetroot . Also , I chose Oats bread – which itself is highly nutritious. CHICKPEAS , the superfood which that is the core ingredient required for making hummus, are so awesomely healthy.Not only are they high in plant based protein but also very high in Iron and Phosphorus . They help with regulating blood sugar levels and also keep the cholesterol levels in check . They also are high in fibre , hence are great for digestion .

I made a batch of the ‘traditional Hummus’ and one batch with Beetroot , the superfood known to boost the immune system .It is superbly great for increasing the haemoglobin levels. Also,it is associated with increasing your over all stamina because of the aid it provides to the increase in blood flow.

cooking-time  Total time : 10 mins

serves  Serves : 6-8 people

Ingredients:

2 cup Over night soaked and Boiled Chickpeas

2-3 cloves of Peeled Garlic

1 Green Chilli

1/4 cup Lime Juice

1/4 cup Tahini Paste

1/5 Cup Water

pink salt to taste

1 tsp Paprika

1 Boiled Roasted and Peeled Beetroot

3 slices Oats Bread

For Garnish

Olive oil

Dehydrated onions (optional)

Dehydrated roses (optional)

Method:

In a food processor chuck in the Tahini paste along with garlic , green chilli , seasoning and lime juice . Blitz it a couple of time . Once the mixture looks creamy start adding the chickpeas slowly in parts . Churn the mixture well before adding the remaining chickpeas ; incase you find the hummus grainy or lumpy add a little water and churn it until smooth . Repeat the process till you have added all the chickpeas . At this point do check on the seasoning and adjust to your liking.

Transfer half portion of the smooth glossy Hummus in a piping bag and set aside.

For Beetroot Hummus

Simply incorporate the Beets into the food processor with the remaining Hummus and blend it . Adjust the seasoning and transfer it in a piping bag and set aside.

The Toasts
Toast the oats bread lightly golden brown . Place them on a grill and let your creativity take over the toasts with the piped Hummus – Finally garnish it with some dehydrated roses and onions & drizzle some olive oil on top.
